This scene is light by vraysun. there is a white plane reflecting the light at the building since this is the dark side.

when I hit AE the suggest resualt is all burnt out! the original is even better.. whats wrong?
something similar happened with the light side but it was less overexposed and I manualy corrected it with the camera shutter speed. even though. this shouldn't happen with SR. I used max on this file yesterday and everything seemed fine. what could have suddenly gone wrong?

Hi !
I think it's related to options panel :

at the bottom of options panel you'll see a section named : "Tools options"
with 2 options, Ignore alpha pixels and whole image.

These options are made for AE tool.

As you pic have a major part of black pixels in background, i suggest to choose "Ignore alpha pixels".
Like this, the AE tool will focus only on your house, and will not be perturbated by the black area.

Hope it helps !

Wow, that did it B)

I wounder how I never noticed this before. if feels like this should be the default.
why should I want SR to process the background?

p.s. could you make a tutorial about the best way to use HDR with SR?

cool, good news !

Well often people have vraysky or sky background directly into render and want the AE working on the entire image.

Depends on methodologies ;)
